Karl Schlechta (Fußballspieler)


Karl Schlechta (28 January 1922 – 5 September 2016) was an Austrian footballer and coach.[1]

Career

Schlechta started his career with Hakoah Vienna, then he played for Wacker Wien and Floridsdorfer AC.

Managing career

He started with the youth teams of Wacker Wien. Later he became coach of the first team. 1957 he went to FK Austria Wien from 1960 on he was coach of the first team. He reached the Austrian Cup 1960 and the league title in 1961 and 1962. He then managed LASK Linz, Wiener AC und Red Star. In the 1970/71 season he was runner up in the league with SV Austria Salzburg. From 1972 to 1977 he was manager of SK Sturm Graz. After two years with SK Rapid Wien and two with Wiener Sportclub he ended his career in 1981.
