Margaret Mitchell

Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell (November 8, 1900 – August 16, 1949)[1] was an American novelist.[2] She is best known for writing Gone with the Wind.[2] She was born in Atlanta, Georgia.[2] Her mother's family was Irish Roman Catholic. In Atlanta on 11 August 1949, Mitchell was hit by a car driven by a drunk driver. Five days later, she died of her injuries.[2] The driver was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
