Today I have some advice on how to stay organized. We all have many projects going on, like homework, chores, school reports, studying, sports, after school classes, going out with friends and other things. Here are some tips to stay organized.
1.) Just focus on one or two main things and do them well. After that you can move on to another task. If you try to take on too much at once you will get in trouble balancing it all.
2.) Keep a list of what you want to get done. This is absolutely critical or you will forget what needs to get done. Be sure to check things off when you complete them. It also shows your progress which is nice. It is also a good idea to give priorities to them, like 1-10, with 10 being the most important item to get done first.
3.) Don't waste time looking for things. Have one place where you keep it all. It could be a notebook, or if you use a computer, maybe a text file or Word file. Just put everything you need on it, like phone numbers, etc. When you need something all you need to do is search this file or go through your notebook. The same holds for real stuff, like your toys and books. Have a place where you keep it all. Different things can go in different places, but try to keep them related. I keep all my books on a special shelf. Games go in a closet.
4.) If you get stuck starting things, or just keep putting it off, like a report you don't want to write, just do something. Even a single line. Take a break and go back to it. Repeat. That will help you get it all done. Baby steps are the key. Never wait to the last minute, like the night before a report is due to start it.
5.) Have rewards for yourself when you accomplish something. It will help motivate you. Like maybe taking time off to watch your favorite tv show or having a snack you really like when it is done. These little motivators can really help.
Hope these tips help!
