Please please please help me!

Question

So guys please help me. I have a Chromebook laptop. The keyboard that is attached to the computer will not work. Whenever I press the keys they do not go on the screen they will not work and whenever I press the letter L key it will take me to my home screen as if I powered off my laptop and I'm logging out. I really need help if your Tech person please help me with this because I have to use the on-screen keyboard which is really hard because I only have a mouse pad on my computer and I do not have a mouse. Well I do have a pulse but it's really hard to use most of the time because I want to like sit on my bed and use it I don't want to sit on my desk. I can use the voice recognition on my on-screen keyboard but it doesn't get my words right most the time and I have to go back and edit it with the regular on-screen keyboard which is hard and your fingers get tired from moving. So please please please help me with this it sucks I hate it. ( sorry guys when it's voice recognition I go out all out and pretend like I'm actually talking to someone so it is very long instead of typing something that is short so, LOL )

Here are some things you can try to fix the keyboard issue

First, try doing a hardware reset

If that does not work, try holding the power button down and don't let go until all the lights go out (it might take up to a minute). After that, start it up again. It sounds like you have a hardware issue, so doing a reset and also hard power-down and start might help. In any case, it is worth a try.

Take it to the computer store where you bought it. They should help you fix this problem. Hope everything turns out well!

Thanks for the suggestion but I got it for Christmas, and I don't want to tell my mom that it's broken because we're kind of tight on money right now and I don't want her spending money on my keyboard I really hope that I could just do something to fix it really quickly. Because it will cost money to go fix it at the computer store. And I think she bought it off of Amazon. And she'll just tell me to use the on-screen keyboard-( which is very horrible to use)
