Lord Varik, and Zavala were now coming to the small border town of RiverWood. Varik and the wolf then stopped at a small shop to get some trail food. When they got inside, the shop owner was laying on a small sofa in the corner of the store. Varik went to wake the owner, but the owner jumped up and held a small knife to Varik. The wolf the rushed to take the knife, but Varik had already taken care of the owner. The wolf demanded that the owner give them some supplies for the act of aggression. The owner then apologized for the bad act and gave them some food, weapons, and rope. Then the duo left the town and crossed the border of Cyridill.
Only a few hours after crossing the border, they got their first glimpse of the bitter Civil War. They were now crossing a battle field. The battle had been over for some time, but surviving soldiers were still moaning from battle wounds. Even though many were wounded they were still fighting each other over food, water, and money. After Varik and Zavala left the battle field, they came across a small Imperial camp. The duo didn't know what would happen if they were caught by the Imperials. So they went around the camp and came across a Rebel camp. They went around the second camp as well. The duo crossed over 17 miles of 3 foot deep snow, and 5 frozen lakes before they came to the Cyridillian capitol of Taloso Vae. They then came up to an old trail going to the Northern land of Candalor. Varik then asked the wolf if they could take the trail, the wolf said yes. The duo took the trail and came up to an old ruin. They went to explore the but were stopped by a horrid beast.
