The Revolutionary War was the most important war in American history. It lasted from 1775-1783.

To really understand the cause of the war, we have to go to the French and Indian wars. During the French Indian war, Britain was pumping money into the war, and this almost made em go bankrupt. The British were very desperate for a solution to stop this bankruptcy from happening. The British Parliment came out with the perfect idea (though not so perfect for the colonists). This idea was ''give the colonists taxes, and make em pull their weight'' (the worst of the taxes and acts was the Stamp Act, Quartering Act, and the Tax on Tea) . The colonists were very angry at this for they thought that they had already paid the tax with their blood in the earlier war. To combat this, the colonists sent Ben Franklin to ask the British Parliment to drop the taxes. But this came out as a failure.

The colonists were now enraged at the British for not dropping the taxes. The mad people began to rebel against the Royal Crown, and formed groups. The most known of the groups was the Sons Of Liberty. Their goal was to end the Royal rule, taxes, and troops coming into their homes. Their first move was to raid a Loyalist store. When the Patriots got there, they were confronted with a store owner. The nervous man shot randomly into the crowd hitting 11 year old Christopher. The Patriots were now desperate to get the boy help. The men finally got help from fellow Patriot Dr. Joseph Warren. But when the Dr. got to the boy it was to late. This death lit a fuse inside Joseph and the other Patriots. After this grim day, it seemed as if there would be a major Rebellion.

The Sons of Liberty were looking for a new target, when they decided to raid the British Customs Office. When the men got there, they found that the place was guarded by British Troops. The angry men were throwing Ice, Rocks, and other debris at the guards, until one of the troops was hit by a piece of debris. The soldier then cried out ''Fire!''. This caused all the troops to fire upon the crowd. After the soldiers finished shooting, 5 Patriots lay dead in the street. The first man to fall was Caspius Attucks. This day in history is known as the ''Boston Massacre''.
