I was anxious to see the judge walking to the podium.
Uh, oh! I thought, I will lose, I know I will!
"Ahem..!" The judge said,"Please quiet down! Ok! Welcome to the ANNOUNCEMENT of the winner of the annual chili cooking contest!"
Everyone clapping. Sweat dribbled down my nose.
"The greater chili will win this stupendous contest!" She yelled, loudly.
"Intelligent words," My mother muttered, her cheeks bright red from heavy cooking all day.
"Drumroll please!" The judge announced, "And the winner is,
DELILA BLAKE and Marie BLAKE with her DELICIOUS Red bean and cumin chili!!!!!!"
"OMG!" My mother shook me playfully,"WE WON!!!!!"
"Here is $100,000" The judge smiled, and I shook with glee.
Finally, some money for all this hard work!!! All in a day's work, I suppose!
