Ferdinand Grant woke up to sunny skies and white, fluffy clouds that looked like silk pillows stuffed with cotton. The bluebird and the goldfinch tweeted notes of pure joy and innocence. The roses were an elegant ruby red, the pansies were a pretty plum purple, the daffodils were a cheerful bright yellow, the hydrangeas were a beautiful shade of blue, and the tulips were gorgeous crystal white.
Ferdinand changed out of his purple gingham pajamas with matching purple slippers and got into his midnight black blazer, sky blue vest, and soft pink tie with gray stripes.
After he finished his breakfast (a blueberry muffin with orange juice and a banana), he checked on his collection of butterfly specimens.
But, he noticed that the jewel of his collection (monarch butterfly) was gone! So, he called the police and described the missing item.
While Ferdinand was thinking of an idea for his newest book, the police was looking for the missing item.
They were issued a warrant to search the house of an uncaught criminal named Dewey Horrant. They found a monarch butterfly lying around in his house! They analyzed it to discover his fingerprints on it! So, they brought it back to Ferdinand and arrested Dewey Horrant.
