Greetings. Today we will focus on how wands produce magic.
A wand needs a core to produce magic. A core is a magical object inside a wand that makes it produce magic. But cores do not produce magic for everybody (We will talk more about that during the final class).
You may ask "Can any magical object be a core?"
No. There are three types of core: unicorn hair, phoenix feather, and dragon heartstring.
Twin Cores are when two wands share the same core that came from the same unicorn, phoenix, or dragon. An example of twin cores are Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort's wands. One phoenix gave two tail feathers instead of one and a famous wandmaker called Ollivander decided to use both in separate wands. Both wand chose Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort have other connections too, such as both being able to speak Parseltongue (a language based on snake hisses used mostly by dark wizards) and a special mental connection.
