KidzSearch Adventure Game Part Two (Story: Part 1)
Previously
Previously we talked about the game, such as how it works. If you find it interesting, please go there and read up on it. Entries are now closed until this story is finished and done, but you are welcome to add your entry on the previous post until we open back up again.
To the players, KnightStar and Snickerdoodles, continue to your stories on your respective posts. Once you have read it, answer with your action(s) and I will edit this post with the next installment and you will then, under your initial answer, comment with your next action. When Part 2 of the story comes about, another post will be made to continue the same route as this one. (This section will serve as a story updater in parts to come.)
KnightStar's Story
You are the newest Ghost Services intern. Your story starts now.
"Wow," you say, glancing a bit nervously up at the tall, medieval looking house. You are not the type of person to question things, though you have your doubts. Nevertheless you go confidently into the large lobby.
No one's there. You glance down at the note you received in the mail:
Welcome and congrats on being hired. To start your shift or to receive extra information, please visit Main Street's Haunted House 017. To get the attention of our resident lobby manager, simply go down to the cellar and knock on the door three times. Other information can be provided by her when she is summoned.
Huh? You think. When you were surfing Craigslist, this job had just been advertised as a "Local Haunted House Housekeeper Needed". And when you checked back on it after getting the phone interview, it had disappeared.Oh well... maybe this is all apart of the act?
Slightly nervous now, you walk through the living room, wondering how this place could have a lobby when it was obviously a 19th century or maybe 18th century house. I mean, lobbies are in doctor's offices and things, not houses, you reason, as your shoes kick up dust on the old rug and find the cellar door.
Do you:
a) open it
b) hesitate and then open it
c) to heck with it!!! I'm leaving
KnightStar chooses: B
Slowly, surely, you take a breath and ease open the door. On the other side is darkness. You reach in your pocket for a mini flashlight that somehow you thought to bring: it's dark in old houses, right? Well, you click on the light and descend down the stairs. They creak under your tennis shoes, and for a moment you have a sudden urge to get to the bottom: what if they break?
You finally do. The ground is just a slab of cement, with some decaying insects covering the floor along with some dead mice, and you turn your nose up at it. They really do need a housekeeper, you think, as you knock three times on the door. In a flash, a withered old lady appears, her outline slightly blurred and her eyes pure, blazing white. The rest of her colors look faded and washed-up, like a favorite shirt put in a rough spin cycle for years.
A ghost!
"Ah-" you say in fright, but she looks kindly at you.
"Who are you?" she asks. "Are you the new intern? You look awfully alive, honey."
Do you:
a) Respond with, "Erm, yes. My name is KnightStar."
b) Smile wearily back at her and say, "Yeah. And you are?"
c) Say confidently, "The name's KnightStar. What just happened?"
d) Whisper, "What's going on? What do you mean, alive?!"
e) Stay silent.
f) Custom response.
NOTE on custom responses: Simply type in what you would say if none of the others sum up what you would do. (These will be offered every story option, except for the very first of Part One.)
