how do you divide? i know how to multiply but not divide.

Division used to be hard for me but all it is is this-

24 divided by 12.How many times can 12 go into 24?2 times in your answer.

25 divided by 12.How many times can 12 go into 25?2 times remander 1 in your answer.

If you know how to multiply dividing is easy. It is just the opposite of it.

Example

4 times 5 = 20

20 divided by 5 = ?

It means how many times does 5 go into 20. Since 4 times 5 = 20, the answer is 4.

Dividing is backwards multiplication. Just reverse the problem, and find the solution.
