Should tweens watch youtube?

Youtube can be good, hosting educational and fun content, but it can be dangerous. As written below, it contains cussing, sexual talk and adult themes, may not be COPPA safe, and can have targeted cyberbullying. However, some channels, such as:

• Kid-Friendly TV clip channels
• Kid-safe How-To videos
• Education Content

channels may not be bad. However, be on guard and check channel info, and mostly go to big, bulky channels with many subscribers, but still be on guard.

No. Lots of things are on YT, even if they claim to be kid friendly. Cussing, sexual or adult themes... etc. You have to have an account to watch certain videoes and to make them. I suggest no. If you do watch, do it with a parent!

It depends on what you watch. You need to be careful of what you watch if you do, so I would say as long as you have internet safety logic and can make sure you avoid bad videos, sure.

Youtube especially as of late has been having some pretty messed up tactics for targetted ads, using lots of hot words and ads that may appeal deeper to an audience of certain videos (If you look up owls for example you will start getting wildlife ads, or computers, then you will get ads for computer stuff/colleges. I feel it would be way more safe sadly, using youtube premium in order to avoid 3 ads before watching a 30 second video.

Please remember youtube premium costs real money. Please speak with a trusted adult before purchasing online.

Furthermore, like said below, there is a lot of content on youtube that is very adult, and may try to lure you in. When in doubt, use youtube kids, but be aware, that ads may still try to target you to click as much as possible

Well, no. 1. It has all sorts of bad stuff. 2. Since tweens are 10-12 and you can’t use YouTube if you are under 13, so, it’s technically illegal. 3. It probably does not follow COPPA.

I'm a tween. I am not allowed to watch YouTube by myself as it contains a lot of adult stuff. I only watch Kidztube.

Yeah I'm even a tween yet and I watch it. Yeah there probably is a lot of bad stuff I just stick to things like domino videos and videos by my friend named when he was younger.
