It depends what size of dog you can have, and what energy level you need. Don’t wanna brag, but even my friends agree that I’m kinda an expert on dogs, so just answer these questions and I can tell you some matches of a perfect breed!
1. What size of dog would you like/need?
2. What energy level of dog do you like/need?
3. Do you need a hypoallergenic dog?
4. Do you need a dog that can stay home alone all day?
5. Do you have any preferences? like coat color, length, curly, straight, anything like that?
Last but not least, I’d always consider adopting a deserving puppy from a shelter or rescue. There are breed-specific rescues for pretty much every dog breed out there, so if you figure out your perfect dog breed but feel compelled to rescue a dog, just look for breed-specific rescues in your area!
Last but not least, never ever ever EVER buy a dog from a pet store, or online without seeing the puppy or breeder in person, or if the breeder says to meet you in a parking lot or boardwalk. Pet stores often buy their dogs from puppy mills, awful corporations that force dogs to breed and breed and breed in dangerous conditions and often neglect their dogs, leaving them sick, matted, dirty, and sitting in their own waste. Online marketing is also hot ground for puppy mills, so make sure the breeder you get your puppy from is reputable. Check the better buisiness bureau, and one more big red flag is that if a breeder deals in more then 3 different types of dogs, they might be a puppy mill. DON’T BUY TEACUP DOGS! As cute as they may seem, they are RIDDLED with health issues that could cost them their life.
Heh heh, as you can see, I’m very passionate about the topic of dogs.
