So.

Um.

I have been suspicious for a little bit that I might have depression. Back when I was cutting myself, I thought, ‘I don’t have DEPRESSION!’ *squeaky voice* But no I’m a bit suspicious. So, like anyone would, I took an online test.

They look like they are pretty reliable, especially since they say that you should get checked by a doctor before taking the results to heart. So, I took the test, and while I was taking it, I was like, ‘Hmmm, I relate to a lot of these...’ The results said I may have moderate to severe depression. They also said it doesn’t mean I necessarily HAVE depression, but I should probably check with a doctor. I am going to talk about it to my mom tonight, but I’m afraid she’s going to say, “No, you don’t have DEPRESSION! Hah!” But nevertheless, I am going to talk about it... wish me  luck.

Even if u do have depression, it’s not a bad thing. Jk Rowling went through depression, and that’s how she came up with the idea of voldemort. *dramatic gasp* I said.... I said his name!!!!!!jawdrop

umm... no offense, but so you really know what depression is/can do? Depression makes you sad all the time, like you have a personal storm could that follows you wherever you go. It leads to thoughts of death and it’s not “okay”. Sorry, but I felt I needed to speak up for this, not trying to hurt feelings...

It’s okay! I do have a tendency to be a little overly protective of my friends/subjects I know a lot about, you’re good :)

Let me guess, it was on Psycom? I took it when I had depression and it was right, though not always true for every case. As for talking to your mom, if she says that, insist she is wrong. For me, i never told my mom, she made me take off my hoodie and saw my scars, which convinced her quickly. The only people I have actually TOLD about it are my friends who have gone through the same thing. One friend did not believe me but I just let it be. Tell your mom about the cutting too.

You are correct. I have told my mom about the cutting, it happened in the summer of 2019. That’s how I ended up going to a therapist. I talked to her, and she listened. Then my dad had to come talk to me and it was all awkward, but it turned out okay. Thank you.

Ask yourself, are you really sad? Is the world is so bleak, empty and dark to the point there is nothing? How do you feel, disregarding the test results.
