KidzSearch is having our first short story writing contest! Three winners from different grade categories will be selected based on outside votes, but also the KidzSearch judges opinion. With permission, each winning entry will be featured as the KidzSearch 2015 Writer of The Year and featured on our homepage with a news press release about it. In addition, a $100 Amazon gift certificate will also be awarded. Finally, the winning stories will be included in a future KidzSearch bound publication containing a collection of our winning yearly entries.
Open to grades K through 12. Three $100 prizes will be awarded based on grade level.

Your creative short story can be on any subject and must be original by you only. Please try to keep it under 1,500 words. Just register for this forum (requires parent/guardian approval) and place your entry in the Short Story Contest category. Last day to enter is December 31, 2015. The winning story will be selected on this forum by Feb 28th, 2016. Second and third place winners will also get an honorable mention.
Please do not include your real name or any identifiable contact information in your submission. Unless you give us parental permission, all press releases and public displays of your work will only include your pen name to keep anonymity. All entries must be in English, but are open to all countries. Include your age and grade level at the top of your short story. Please see our terms for additional details.
Judging will be based on creativity and writing quality.
