So.

Lately, I've been kinda like dead during the day. I mean, like, I don't wanna do much, I'm tired, etc. Which isn't so bad, but the problem is, I'm super energetic/hyper at night. This prevents me from having a good night's sleep, and makes me tired in the morning, which restarts the whole pattern again. This has been happening pretty frequently, and it's kinda gotten bad. Me and my mom talked a bit and we both agreed it's most likely my meds. Abt a month ago I started taking a bigger dose of my anxiety meds cuz they thought my undiagnosed ADHD was anxiety. We also assumed my depression was also playing a role, since losing interest in things/being tired all the time is a symptom. (I have been feeling ok mentally, just tired. So I'm not feeling suicidal/sad/stressed bc of the depression, just tired/lousy). I actually predicted that giving me a bigger dose of meds for anxiety wouldn't end well, but they wouldn't listen to me, thinking it was just anxiety even after I repeatedly told them I wasn't stressed like at all lately. Any advice?

P.S. Purple, I might not be coming to school today again, feeling kinda lousy, but maybe we can hangout when you get back?

Hi! I know this answer is a lot different than Luna's, but basically what I'd say is tell them the symptoms are bugging you and 9 times out of 10 they'll switch the med. On the first anxiety med I tried, the exact same thing happened to me. After switching a few times, they found one that helps my anxiety A LOT while not aggravating my ADHD too much, I mean i still have a TERRIBLE time focising but I mean that's not the meds fault :)

I don't like meds. Medication cannot solve mental disorders. Yes, it can help them to a degree, but chemicals are not going to fix any disorder, people do that themselves. Heck, I've had ADHD all my life, and I've had depression, and I never had depression meds and it's been years since I've taken ADHD meds. All they can do is make people dependant on them, and when they don't fix the problem, they get worse. That said, I'd stop taking the medication if they don't help you, however, do so slowly, you don't want to suddenly stop medication without a doctor's permission. But honestly, I recommend trying to deal with any ADHD, or depression, or anxiety without medication. For ADHD, listening to music can help you focus better, just be wise on the song. For depression, try cognitive behavioral therapy or something similar, and for any anxiety, develop ways to calm yourself down, even if it's not an attack, try meditation when you're about to sleep (should help you calm down before bed!) and you can also try 4-7-8 breathing with the meditation, or you can do it whenever you start to stress. Meds won't fix it anyway, methods like these can actually heal the issues, meanwhile, medication can only be a crutch, you still have to stand up, with or without medication. Meds can make you feel worse too since those chemicals don't always agree. Best of luck to you.
