MAYA
I WAS GETTING BORED SITTING IN GEOMETRY. I am trying to keep up, but all these shapes! Sighing, I flip my textbook.
Tonight would be prom. All the freshmen, seniors and juniors were going to be at this one party. I find it rather odd to have eighteen year olds and fourteen year olds at the same prom, the same time. Of course there would be about three million chaperones around, to measure the distance between you and whom ever you dance with. It makes me extremely uncomfortable and excited to go. Seniors would be there. Seniors.

I lay on my bed. Suddenly my phone rings. Sighing I pick it you. It was some random number, maybe some kids prank calling? "Hello..."says a low yet cheerful voice. "Is this Maya-Maya Brizian?" Nobody has ever called me by the last name "Brizian". For some unknown reason, the voice sounded familiar and made me feel warm inside. "No, uh. I think you have the wrong number." I say slowly and almost shaking. Why was a strangers voice shaking me up so much?
Suddenly, my mother burst into the room. "Who was that?" she says angrily. "Mom-M'am... It was a person who had-uh called the wrong number.-" My mother shakes her head stubbornly. She snatched my phone out of my hand. "Who all is in your contacts?" she says. She began scrolling."What app is this?" She clicks the app. "What's the password?" Right now, I was shaking. Why was she suddenly being hostile? I quickly made up a lie "Uh... Mara has an-uh account on the app, she wanted to show me a picture of our project." I had been storing information on the app about my father. She tosses my phone back on the bed. "Warren is coming over for dinner. Wash up."
It was prom night. Mara smiled sweetly at me as she combed my hair.
