Margo MacDonald

Margo MacDonald (19 April 1943 – 4 April 2014) was a Scottish politician and television and radio presenter. She was a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Leader. She was later an Independent Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Lothian region. She was also a schoolteacher and assisted suicide campaigner.

MacDonald was born in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. She was married to Peter MacDonald from 1965 until their divorce. They had two daughters, Petra and Zoe. She was later married to politician Jim Sillars until her death.

MacDonald died from Parkinson's disease on 4 April 2014 at her home in Edinburgh. She was 70.[1]
