Im trying out for my schools volleyball team and i have a few concerns.

Question

Hi reader, this year at my school we get to try out for sports. I'm planning on trying out for the volleyball team l, because I love playing it. But... There are two reason why I don't want to try out.....

1: all the popular girls that literally hate me will most likely be on the team no matter what, because if I'm being real their the best at volleyball.

2. Im horrible at volleyball. I love it but I'm not good at it. And all the girls try to hit the ball when it's right by me because they don't think i can hit it over the net. Do you guys have any tips for me.

Try to get to the ball before they do, and focus.

or maybe puposefully get hit by them accidentally so they get yelled at

I know this is really late and stuff but I play volleyball and when I first started I was TERRIBLE. Thing is we get to our first practice and something dead serious magically changed. I could suddenly serve, spike, bump, and kinda set. Just try out. In the words of my basketball coach, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Hey girl!! Crazy, 'cause I was in the EXACT SAME situation a few years ago when I played volleyball in middle school!! 

For right this second, all I'm gonna say is: DO IT!! :D

Girl, if you don't shoot this shot, you may never know if you would have been good or enjoyed the sport or not!! You should try!! What's the worst that could happen?? You get laughed at for trying?? Anyone with a brain would see that those laughing at you are total losers 

I did not get along the best with my volleyball team, 'cause, as you said, all the popular girls did it, and I was FAR from popular back then!! I also kinda sucked. Made my team very mad some days  Gonna be totally honest with you, I just liked to travel, the sweatshirt, and the popularity that came from playing a sport XDXDXD

However, I made some AMAZING new friends by joining that team!! I also got to talk to some people that I normally wouldn't talk to, and that was nice sometimes :) 

Sports tips?? Okay, um, here's a few things I learned from playing in middle school:

Well, know the rules, ofc. Don't touch the net with your body. Really learn if a ball is going out of bounds. Unless you KNOW it will be out of bounds, GO FOR IT!! :O Talk and communicate with your team while you're on the court and call the ball. Most of all, be kind and humble!! Be a cheerleader, too!! And PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!

I don't have any tips for getting better at volleyball. (I despise the game with every inch of my soul, and, well, I'm not very good at it.)

Go for it. Who cares if some mean girls are on it or you're bad at it . you should always TRY. Try hard and try again. With practice you can get good :D
