ok so pls help

I'm learning 2 languages at the moment: Ukrainian and Polish. I know some Spanish as well and it is an important detail. part of my background is Hispanic (specifically Salvadoran, like my dad's side of the family is from El Salvador(country in South America)) and my grandparents(on my dad's side of the family) are pressuring me to keep learning more Spanish, and I want to, but the thing is, the reason I'm learning Ukrainian is to communicate with refugees easier but also because my crush doesn't know a lot of English, he speaks Ukrainian. I'm learning Polish because it's also part of my background. I don't know how to explain to my grandparents that I'm learning Ukrainian for love(and supporting other ppl), and learning Polish because I wish they could understand that Salvadoran is not my only ethnicity (not even close!) and that Polish is another one of my backgrounds. I wish they could understand that it's difficult learning 3 languages, let alone the 2 languages I'm currently learning. does anyone have advice? sad_smile

I think that you should talk to them about your feelings, and reasons why. If you don't feel like explaining about your crush, tell all of the other reasons. Never lie, I know from expierence. wink_smile I believe that whatever you do, that whatever happens your grandparents will love you no matter what.

Tell them that u want to learn polish and Ukrainian and please don’t make me learn what I don’t want to learn even if it’s part of my heritage

You could just tell them that you are interested in learning it. It’s not lying.

just say something like. "I'm currently learing two languages. [insert what languages they are and why you chose to learn them], maybe after I'm done learning [whichever one you think you'll be done learning first]"
