"Autumn!" Mother cried, but I was off. I was running as fast as my short stout legs could carry me. I hopped over fences, mailboxes, even old Mrs.Evans car. All to get to April's house on time. I allowed a quick look over my shoulder just as I bonked my head on April's mailbox. "Owwww" I sighed, "Happens all the time." I sprang up and tip-toed up the brick stairway. I let myself in with the key April gave me. I sneaked up the stairs and took out a packet from my jeans pocket. I slipped into April's bedroom and ripped open a corner of the packet. I dumped in the fish food into the fish tank and watched the food slowly drown to the bottom. Valencia, the fish, gobbled it up and I giggled. I looked at my watch and almost screamed in surprise. 12:00? I thought Ugh, time to go back home. I tip-toed back through the house and ran as fast as I could back home. So much for going sneakily I thought as mom lectured me. I shrugged and jumped to my room. Oh,well. Grounded for 2 days. Not so much as last time, grounded for 4 days! I sighed and drifted off for a nice, long doze.
