I just sat quietly in my seat, staring out the window.
“Do it to her,” the kid said next to me.
I suddenly felt a few raps to the head.
“Can you stop that?” I turned around and looked straight at the kid behind me.
“Stop what?”
I turned my head and of course, he starts tapping again.
“Stop it!” I said.
“Bro, what did I do?”
Knock, knock, knock, knock… he kept knocking on me like a door.
I tried to ignore it, and after a while, he stops. Thankfully.
Then the bus was getting ready to stop where he gets off.
He promptly said, “That girl is weird.”
Another girl said, “Why?”
“She was barking in the hallway. She’s weird.”
“Ew, what the *#@$? Did you bark in the hallway?”
“No?” I said quietly.
“See?” the girl stated.
“She’s still weird as #@$&,” said the kid before they got off the bus. “She’s so emo.”
I cried when I got home. Only an hour ago.
Be careful what you say to people.
You don’t understand how that affects them.
I would do a lot to put that kid, who has messed with me so many times before, in a living nightmare.
You don’t understand how that might affect you.
