The Kalmar Union makes 0 Sense
let me explain.
So, It was the end of the Viking age. The Nordic countries recently became Christian countries and the queen of Denmark had a big brain idea to
U N I T E T H E N O R D I C S (except Sápmi because the queen was a W for respecting the Sámi)
so she did.
Now, This union for the first... 70 or 80 years was ok. They weren't a super amazing union but they were OK. The army was weak tho, but living conditions were good. The government cared about all their citizens, not just the rich ones (I got my eye on you, Norway-Sweden Union 
)
Now, By the time it was the 1500s things got messy. Well, Sweden had a dream. a Dream to become a great empire. but Denmark was like “Nope.” and then Sweden go really mad so they uhh… did some really violent things I cannot describe on Kidztalk. Now, finally after 2 of these really Violent things they done, the Kalmar Union died after 125 years.
Now, After this union Denmark wasn’t that mad. They only lost Finland and Sweden. Denmark still owned Norway and Iceland. Now, The Period after the Kalmar Union is called the Liberty age. This era is from 1530 to 1800, and it is mostly Sweden and Denmark trying to form empires. The Liberty Age is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite Era of Scandinavian History.
