As I said, MASTER PLAN. Which was:
- Find Mika and Maddi
- Drop to my knees
- Sob
- Beg
(Pathetic, I know.)
I saw them opening their lockers. I chased them down and put myself in front of Maddi. I dropped to the floor. "Oh my God, Mika. Here's the 'I don't know my gender' girl." Maddi threw her head back and cackled. Mika simply stared at me in disgust. I forced tears into my eyes and pouted. "M-Mika........ M-M-M-M-M-Maddi..... I'm begging you... If you have my boots... P-please.... I NEED them. It's the last thing I have from my.. D-dear departed mother.." I put my head to the ground and squeezed out some fake tears. I started "bawling" and screaming, "M-MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" A small crowd had formed around me. I smirked. They were buying it. "C'mon, Maddi and Mika. Give her back her boots," a kid named Sander said. I frowned, trying to fight the temptation to scream, "WHO SAID I WAS A GIRL???!!" More kids watched as I frailed my arms and legs around pathetically. A tough girl called Darla said, "Give 'em back, Maddi. Or things could get ugly.
Maddi and Mika cowered close to the walls of the hallway. Mika whispered something fast to Maddi, who shook her head and rolled her eyes at the same time. Mika snatched my boots from Maddi's backpack. She threw them to me. "There," Mika said, grumbled. "Have your stupid boots." The crowd cheered as I stood up, beaming and put my boots on.

Later at home, I found Leo crying again. I sat next to him and put my arm around him.
"The moms are at it again, eh?"
"Yeah. I'm still not sure whats going on," he mumbled through seemingly endless tears.
"It's all going to be okay. You have to trust me." I stared at him, waiting for a response.
Instead, Liam, followed by a few friends, walked in. "What up, bro?" One of them asked. "Oh!" Said Leo, embarassed. He quickly wiped away his tears and cleared his throat. "I wasn't crying, are you, no I was just..... Uhhhhmm....I-I'm fine," he said. His voice cracked slightly. "Suuuuureeee, dude," Liam said. "We just wanted to ask, do you wanna come shoot some hoops with me and my peeps?"
I stood up. "No, he wouldn't. He would rather watch horror movies with his partner, me." I pointed at myself while saying that. "Ooooooooookaay.." Liam said slowly. He and his friends awkwardly walked out while I slammed the door in his face. "AND STAY OUT!" I yelled after them. Leo blinked. "What was that all about?"
"Nothing," I replied quickly. I didn't want him to know what I was really feeling. I was trying not to think these things myself.
