A lot of people get confused when it comes to being a Christian. A lot of people want to go to heaven so they say that as long as they believe that a god exists then they should go to heaven. That is not true. Christianity is based off of the Bible which has standards that the Lord set for us to follow. True Christians have the Holy Spirit and serve God.
