It would be the books for me .   Two reasons

1.      I can't seem to sit still for a movie without falling asleep unless its a comedy or a musical .
2. I always read the book first and movies often do horrible remakes
3. There are exceptions for books and movies like I could watch wonder woman with exit ment

It depends on the book and movie. Some books have more interesting elements than movies, and some movies have more interesting elements than books.
