I Don't really like poetry

Question

I get how it speaks to many people ,but for me well its just boring! The only way I can enjoy it is when it tells a story or talks about Things that interests me. I Think poetry is hard to read. I really want to like poetry ,but I can't. Maybe part of it is because the most poetry I can do is this

Poetry is boring

I want to like it

I feel like I,m soaring

When I Don't do It.

See what I mean ,but that's part of the reason I like some things. So I don't know.

Can someone please explain. Or change my mind.

IDK how to change your mind... I feel the same too. I just thought the prizes in Uni's poetry contest sounded nice, so I wrote some sort of poem...
