Punch (Panchi-kun) was a 7-month-old Japanese macaque at Ichikawa Zoo who became famous after being rejected by his mother. To help him cope with loneliness and anxiety while being moved in with other monkeys, zookeepers provided him with an orangutan plushie stuffed animal from IKEA as a substitute mother for his real parents. The stuffed animal gave Punch the comfort he needed to become social and accepted by the other monkeys.
