First off, it is good that you are homeschooled.
Okay, so yeah, if he only talks to you when you are alone, that is a good sign. It (can, not always) mean that he is nervous around you and doesn't want his friends to know. So what you need to do is watch is body language. If he messes with his clothes or hair or something when around you, he could be nervous. If when you are in a convo with other ppl his feet are pointed towards you he might be subconsciously pointing towards the person he likes.
