I need help with this part 

when the number that you're dividing by is bigger than the first to things you're needing to divide if that makes sense?Thanks I feel kinda stupid

So if the number you have to divide is smaller than the thing you are dividing by, it can be a little confusing.

So let's just work through an example.

2÷5

Now, 2 is (obviously) smaller than 5, but you still have to divide it.

So, 2 is the same as 2.0, so you can just pretend that 2 is 20 and divide 20 by 5. You would get 4. But, that is not yet the answer. So if you had 2.0 ÷5, you would put 0 over the 2, and and put . after it, then you are dividing 20 by 5, which is 4. But, if you look, you would have 0.4. That is the answer.

I hope this made sense, I am on a phone so i can't show exactly how to do it.

I'm not sure how to explain without a piece of paper. Basically 15 divided by 75 you would add a decimal 15 . 75/-----  divide as usual.

                                                 15.0
