Yes, don't sweat it, this is normal!! Everyone's body is different!! But actually mine is the EXACT same way, no cap!
I don't think there is much of a way to stop discharge without probably making your period occur less frequently. You can do this by making certain diet changes, working out, and even added stress (but I'll bet you don't wanna do that one!). I used to get mine every four weeks, but sometimes it'll be a five and a half week gap in between.
