Most ear piercing places just give you gold or silver colored studs to wear for a few weeks, then you're free to wear any you'd like. I don't recommend sharing them with friends, it'd be alright to share them with your mom or sister, or maybe cousin. As long as you both wash your ears before and after putting them in. I used to soak my ear rings in rubbing alcohol overnight after I'd worn them for a few days.
