i am scared of sharks. im going to the beach with my friend!! pls help me!!

im going to the beach with my friend. im leaving sunday but pls respond before saturday. im going to charelston. my dad said that there were 15 shark "incedints" last year. he said there wans't that many this year but im still scared!! also he said people fishing on the peer want to catch sharks so they will dump dead bloody fish into the water to catch them. i know  that he wants me to be carefull. and he's not the type of parent that would "joke" about this. so pls help!! my friend asked me if i would go out kinda far i said yes i. I NEED HELP!! PLS ANSWER ME BEFORE SATURDAY!!

Sharks are not man eaters. A lot of times when they bite boats its because they have a metal sensory and electromagnetic pulses produced by propellers confuse them and make them bite it. It's sad. And also, they only bite if they're confused whether you're food or not. But don't worry; most spit it out if it doesn't taste right, and if you're in a big group at the beach in cooler waters especially, they don't come 'round.

Some just have traits of curiosity, meaning no harm at all. If they attack surfers it's because (Bethany Hamilton reference, I gotta get it in) when they're floating on their boards, from below they look shockingly similar to floating seals. But they spit it out after one bite if they recognize it's human. They're just as scared of you as you are of them, and yout truly have nothing to sort about! :D
