Tell me a time your quick thinking might of saved your life

Question

I will go first so I was sitting on the grass out side my house and my friend went in for food and I was alone I was just reading .then I heard a car pulling up I took a look and a white van with no markings pulled up .  Two people ran towards me and my instincts kicked in and I ran across the street in to my friends house and after there parents  had to walk me down. Also I was only 9 .ever since  I have been paranoid about being kidnaped

Once I jumped into a lake, forgetting I was on the deep side. I almost drowned, but out of the corner of my eye I saw a rope that was hanging off the side of the bank in the water. I grabbed it and pulled myself toward the bank.
