He was born on October 28, 1979 in East Germany. His mom was German and his dad was Bangladeshi. When he was young, in the early ‘80s, his family crossed the Berlin Wall to West Germany, where he grew up. The reason his family crossed was because they were experiencing xenophobia, the fear of something foreign or strange.
In 1992, his family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota because his family was experiencing xenophobia there too.
