Question for Y'all who know about this gender stuff

So Dino, WN, Sloth, and whomever else:

I have recently had contact with a couple of people. One called themselves (okay, this is gonna be confusing so I'll mention that "themselves" is referring to the three of them collectively) "a bunch of trans dudes." Are they males who are trying to be female or females who have transformed into males to earn the title "dudes?"

I'm really confused and I don't know what's going on anymore. Figured someone here could help me out.

It means that they are biologically females but are actually males (basically born female but are  actually/identify as a male)

They would be people who were assigned female at birth but later transitioned and now identify as a male.

It’s people born female at birth who transitioned to males. Not gonna lie that still confuses me too-
