Why did they pick red for the redstone (obviously a different color = diff name)

Well, redstone is a natural formation in the real world, and the developers added redstone to Minecraft for that reason. The reason it’s named redstone is because redstone looks kind of red. It looks more ginger though, but it would feel kinda weird if redstone was “gingerstone”.
