Here is some help for people who are tricked by multiplication.
1x
For 1x everything is like the following:
2x1=2
So the other factor that is not 1 is the answer.
2x
For 2x everything is doubled.
For example,
4x2=8
Basically, you can just add 4+4!! Like 9x2 will be 18.
3x
Here is a song to remember:
3,6,9,
12,15,18,
21,24,27,
30
3x1 is 3, while 6x2 is 12, and so on.
4x
4 times is tricky. To remember, I count by twos: 2,4,6,8,
But I say every other one quickly.
For example,
2,4, 6, 8, 10, 12
Like that.
5x
You can just count by 5.
5, 10, 15, 20
It is easy because each number will end with 5 or 0.
6x
6x always stumps me.
The only way I got it was by memorizing. Here is a table:
6x1 |
6 |
6x2 |
12 |
6x3 |
18 |
6x4 |
24 |
6x5 |
30 |
6x6 |
36 |
6x7 |
42 |
6x8 |
48 |
6x9 |
54 |
6x10 |
60 |
7x
Same thing.
Here is another table:
7x1 |
7 |
7x2 |
14 |
7x3 |
21 |
7x4 |
28 |
7x5 |
35 |
7x6 |
42 |
7x7 |
49 |
7x8 |
56 |
7x9 |
63 |
7x10 |
70 |
8x
Same.
8x1 |
8 |
8x2 |
16 |
8x3 |
24 |
8x4 |
32 |
8x5 |
40 |
8x6 |
48 |
8x7 |
56 |
8x8 |
64 |
8x9 |
72 |
8x10 |
80 |
9x
9x is simple.
Put your hands out all fingers.
Then if you are doing 9x3, put down your third finger. On the left side of the third finger, there are 2 fingers up. Those 2 are the tens place; 20. On the right side of the third finger, there are 7 fingers up. Those 7 are the ones place; 7. 20+7=27
10x
10x is basically 1x but add a zero at the end.
For example:
2x10=20
7x10=70
and so on...
Hope this helps!
