as you guys know, I am going to a Nordic festival in Minnesota for my 14th birthday next year. Because of this, I need to find appropiate things to wear.
One thing that has been in my wishlist for a log time is the Bunad (Traditional Norwegian dress) I really love the diferent designs, and I like how not just Norwegians or Norwegian-Americans can wear it (Ive seen people of non-Nordic cultures wear Bunad, and I am Venezuelan so I like how it is inclusive). and there is a large variaty of designs (over 450 Bunad Designs excist as of right now, and that is just for the girls)
One problem tho, what. is. that. price
3,600$ (USD) for a Bunad.
You know what you can buy with 3,600$? tickets to actually go to Norway.
this is actually a terrible thing. and if you ask "gO oN aMaZoN" It is actually Illegal to buy Bunads there, because of copyright laws held by Norwegian Government. thats why when you search up "Bunad" on Amazon, they dont appear.
if anybody knows any websites that sell Bunads for cheap (basically less than $500) lemme know because I really want a Bunad that is authentic but not overpriced
EDIT : this is kinda ironic but Bunads used to be considered ruralwear, so the poorest people in Norway (Norway used to have poverty in like the 1600s) owned the Bunad. Everyone In Norway owns Bunads today regardless of economical status, but not a lot of Norwegian-Americans own one.
