With the advent of social media, organizing and justifying student protests have become increasingly easier. One such instance was the School Strike for Climate that took place on September 20th, 2019. According to Nel Yomtov's book 'School Strike for Climate', as many as 6 million people from different corners of the world participated in the strike to protest against the inaction towards climate change.

Social media played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about the strike and bringing people together for a common cause - combating climate change. The strike was initiated by Greta Thunberg, a teenager from Sweden who began a solo protest outside the Swedish Parliament in August 2018. Her protest gained momentum and soon became a global phenomenon.

Social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook were flooded with posts and tweets about the strike, making it easier for people to learn about it and join the movement. Hashtags such as #ClimateStrike, #FridaysForFuture, and #SchoolStrike4Climate became popular, further amplifying the message of the strike.

The School Strike for Climate demonstrated the power of social media in mobilizing people and creating awareness about important issues. It also highlighted the role that young people can play in bringing about change and the importance of activism in today's world.

I'll be posting all my thingies on my blog on here as I post them, bc I cant share my blog (sadly)
