My dad has set a goal for me.
*drum roll plz *
read more.
Now, I read a lot. But all I read are SAINs, Travel guides to Nordic countries, Wikipedia articles and books for middle school boys (wimpy kid, Middle school worst years of my life, big nate etc) But my dad wants me to actually read.
He thinks that reading the latter isn't gonna teach me anything. He thinks that the other 3 are educational but I should read something that's more fitting for my gender and age group
(ah, appearently teen girls can't be into Scandinavian history. How Lovely)
Now I have to fall into the void of the most nightmare fuel kind of books (if you like these I respect you)

My dad wants me to read more "girly" books since he thinks they will actually teach me how to be a decent girl, but these books dont even have girl characters having non-girly interests. Like, If you're a girl and you like girly stuff that's totally OK, BUT THERE ARE GIRLS WHO DON'T.
They also have a book in that series where changing yourself to fit in is glamorized and considered a positive message. At school, i get bullied for liking Nordic stuff but Nordic stuff gives me a sense of comfort. I am not changing myself
So, Please save me from this and give me book recomendations. Nordic books are absolutely great, and anything that is middle grade is acceptable. I'm almost 14, and I love art, genealogy, nordic countries and history.
(My Mom on the other hand, she loves my reading choices. She has watched The Emigrants Movie at least twice with me, and almost every week we watch some Scandinavian travel documeatries in Spanish)
