*deep breath* Garten of Banban (referred to as GoB/GoBb for short, I prefer the former) is a chapter-based horror-puzzle game made by the Euphoric Bros. The first game came out sometime in January. There are currently five installments - chapters I, II, III, IV, and VI - with V and VII currently in progress. GoB's 1-year anniversary was just a few weeks ago.
The game follows a parent searching for their child in Banban's Kindergarten shortly after the sentient mascots went rogue, resulting in a massacre. As their quest continues, they delve deeper and deeper into the facility, meeting new friends and enemies, and discovering all sorts of secrets and hidden plots.
In Chapter 1, the player is attacked by Opila Bird a short time after entering the kindergarten. They descend using a lift, but are dragged down into the abyss by Jumbo Josh.
In Chapter 2, the player is greeted by an unknown being through a speaker system. After completing some tasks for them, they walk into a room and are knocked out by the being, revealed to be Banban. They wake up in another area and walk around, then are ambushed by an injured Opila. Banbaleena, who was nearby, helps the player hide, only to keep them in her school area. They escape and she gives chase, alongside Josh.
In Chapter 3, they go even deeper, trying to find a friend that Banban claims can help them find their child. This friend is Stinger Flynn. Flynn starts out as a wise, kind person, but his facade quickly drops, revealing his irritable, obsessive personality. He puts the player through an extreme mental illusion, causing them to fall asleep in the process, while transporting them across the level. In this dreaming state, he tells them about his 'safe' plan to help his fellow mascots escape. When the player wakes up, they are in another area. Sometime after this, they help bring life to an unused mascot known as Nabnaleena, a female counterpart to Nabnab that was supposed to make them less lonely. It works, but Nabnab is attacked by Josh, who drags them, the player, and Banbaleena to his hideout. They escape and Banbaleena returns to her own floor. (I haven't seen any III playthroughs in a while, so these may be out of order.) Flynn also comes back and puts the player through another hallucination, this one portraying Banban as an evil monster. The player ignores this and moves forward, until Flynn comes back one last time, turning Banban into his evil counterpart. A chase ensues, and the game ends with the player and one of Opila's chicks, often called Little Beak, descending, while Josh, Flynn, Banban, Opila, and Tarta Bird fight.
In Chapter 4, which is my favorite, the player and LB are almost instantly attacked by the Mataki Twins, barely escaping. After solving a few puzzles, they encounter a strange-looking remote. However, just before the player can use it, they are knocked out and dragged away. They wake up in an interrogation room, where Sheriff Toadster, the one who caught them, asks them questions from behind a dark window. After some questions are asked, he lets them out and takes them to Queen Bouncelia, the ruler of the level, which is often referred to as the Kingdom. Bouncelia requests that they leave, but allows them free reign over the map so they can find parts to repair the Kingdom's broken lift. Toadster and LB work with them to get the first part, though both stay behind at their base. Sometime during the first mission, the player also encounters Bittergiggles, jester-gone-rogue who is relentless in his quest to make Bouncelia laugh, despite that resulting in the release of the Naughty Ones trapped in her pouch. After the part is retrieved, the player meets up with Banban, who somehow got to the Kingdom, alongside the others in the last chapter's fight, Banbaleena, and Slow Seline. The two of them journey to find part 2, but get interrupted by Nabnab. Banban and Nabnab fight, and the player grabs the part afterwards and leaves. For the third part, the player goes alone, and is trapped by Bittergiggles, who mocks them, then rants to them, then leaves to attack the Kingdom with Kittysaurus, his pet cat/dinosaur/monstrosity. He succeeds in making Bouncelia laugh, which releases the Naughty Ones. Toadster and the player are forced to evacuate, alongside the other mascots on the level. LB is also turned into a monster.
In Chapter 6, Toadster leads the player to his old hideout, where a door hiding Bouncelia's scepter is located. They work together for the first part of the game. However, while looking for the second door button, they find Bittergiggles. Bittergiggles expresses regret for his previous actions and asks the player for forgiveness. They complete a puzzle with some lights, but must hide after Sir Dadadoo (who named this guy I hate it I'm calling him DDD) finds them. He leaves after a bit. Upon return, Toadster gets mad that the player brought an enemy to their place, only to get distracted and run off. Since there's not much else to do, Bittergiggles and the player just take over the area. More random **** happens, more characters reappear, and eventually, the door is opened. The Player, Banban, Bittergiggles, and Nabnab locate the scepter, but a piece is missing. DDD walks in and threatens to eat Kittysaurus if they don't give him the piece, but Banban activates Nabnab's monster form, and Nabnab attacks DDD. They run off; however, Bittergiggles stays behind and jumps into a pit because he believes that switching sides means people will laugh at his jokes. Banban also stays behind to fight the horde of mind-controlled mascots, leaving the player alone as they go even deeper.
Chapter 5 is currently unfinished. It is a prequel.
Chapter 7 is currently unfinished. It will feature Syringeon, a previously unknown mascot.
