before I start,  this is a serious vent because althrought this has happened 2 weeks ago, I never had the sisu to share it here, in fear that everybody will ignore me (my posts arent getting any answers) so I really wish I could talk

I got vandalized. Yes. Vandalized.

Here's the story

2 weeks ago, we had practice testing. one day, during recess,  I left my sketchbook with my belongings on the ground, as usual and went to hang out with my friends

my sketchbook was in great condition. Only bad thing is that the edges of the sketchbook were a little broken.

when I checked back during lunch, I saw something horrible

somebody (and I knew somebody did it, because I will never intentionally damage my art and nature can't just destroy the sketchbook quality) had attempted to TEAR the cover appart

Want proof? here

That Day, I ate lunch at the SPED room and lived the day as normal.

Today, I noticed more damaging effects. the cover LITTEARLY tried coming off and I had 2 panic attacks.

in case you're like "ask mom for a new sketchbook" She "claims" to have no money for it

Then how was she able to afford a 20$ for her boyfriend and not a 9$ sketchbook

Im Crying. I dont want to use my sketchbook anymore because it looks ugly and broken

I wish I was in Scandinavia.

I dont wanna draw anymore

I remember when someone took my book, at school, I had it in my desk, and after I went to get it so  out to go home, but it wasn't their, so my mom helped me look for it at the school, sure enough it was in the desk right in front of me(my rival lol)  and the teachers got mad at my mom, I tried to stand up for her but I was 9 at the time, but I eventually got home and read the book,

(the book was called arf by the way)

I also hope you can get a new sketch book someday I wish I can send you one of mine I have like 6 empty sketchbooks

Hi carly,

Sorry I'm late but this is horrible. I'm so so sorry this happened to you. Vandalism is a very terrible thing and I am soso sorry that you have to go through it.

You really have no right to be treated this way. I hope you read this and see this and I really really wish that there was a way for me to help you but all I can dois tell you what a garbage human being that person who ripped your sketchbook is. They are actually probably just jealous of you because carly, I have seen your art and it is so so good. Like really good.

Your art is so awesome!! Ik your book is fixed now but I know that bullying is never EVER ok.

Panic attacks can be hard. And a way to prevent one when it is coming is to take a few deep breaths and name 5 things around you. Something you smell, hear see or touch. And that will help distract you from your panic attack before it starts. Sorry if that is not super helpful I don't really have panic attacks but I know they are hard and scary.

You can always message me carly.

I'm always here.

I see that smile! Haha! I made you smile! (admit it I did!!)

Have a great day!

How did you just now reply? T_T

by (153k points)
I didn’t feel confident enough to make that response until then.
by (153k points)
But how could it be considered extreme?
by (249k points)
OKAY WAIT REAL FOR THAT-
by (153k points)
It’s an easily fixable problem, so I don’t get how it’s extreme.

You know what is extreme?

Swirlies, noogies, trash can shoving, pants down-pulling, skirt down-pulling, underwear down-pulling, clothes stealing, towel stealing, girlfriend stealing, boyfriend stealing, friend stealing, money stealing, lunch stealing, nose punches, rabbit punches, kidney punches, gut punches, rib punches, you-know-what punches, you-know-what kicks, shin kicks, leg kicks, face kicks, roundhouse kicks, nerf gun shooting, airsoft gun shooting, bb gun shooting, pellet gun shooting, real gun shooting (most extreme), bomb threat, death threat, shooter threat, tornado threat, hurricane threat, flood threat, thunderstorm threat, getting your period in class, shower pranks, class pranks, embarrassing pranks, and finally, getting snitched on for something you didn’t do and getting convicted for it.

That’s extreme.

Personally, shin-kicking in the worst of those listed a-=(

I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a distressing experience with your sketchbook. It's understandable that you feel frustrated and upset about it. Vandalism is a hurtful act, especially when it impacts something that means a lot to you.

It's unfortunate that your sketchbook got damaged, but try not to let it discourage you from continuing to pursue your passion for drawing. Remember that the value of your art comes from your creativity and expression, not the physical condition of your sketchbook. Perhaps you can explore different ways to restore or personalize the cover, making it unique and meaningful to you again.

Regarding your financial situation, it can be challenging when it feels like others prioritize their own needs over yours. Have an open and honest conversation with your mom about your feelings and the importance of having a new sketchbook to continue practicing your art. It's possible that she may not fully understand the significance it holds for you.

Remember, venting about your feelings is a good first step towards finding a solution. If you have any friends or family members who are supportive, it might help to reach out to them for advice or assistance. And consider sharing your frustrations with professionals or community forums online where people can offer support and guidance.

Please don't give up on drawing just because of this setback. Your talent and dedication are important, and there are others out there who appreciate and value your art. Keep pursuing your passion and don't let this unfortunate incident hold you back.

idk if you would wanna do this BUT

one time I broke one of my sketchbooks, so basically what I did was fix it up with tape and stuff and I proceeded to make a cool new cover covered with stickers and I also glued on some cut-out doodles-

I also cut up some old clothes that didn't fit anymore and I had my dad sew on some cloth patches with his old sewing machine

it looked rlly cool but idk where it went

hope you cheer up :(
