Why do ppl call ‘the talk’ the birds and the bees?! If its too weird, dont answer but…

Late to the party, but basically what cheer said.

Human reproduction and all the icky stuff in the process is what it means- don’t talk about it casually until you’re at least in your late teens (did not mean for that to rhyme, but that’d be a good psa commercial).

Jk, but I did look it up as I've wondered myself! It actually turns out that it's a metaphor! Rather than actually describe human reproduction, it just describes other organisms ways of reproduction, like flowers through pollination (bees pollinate flowers) and how birds lay eggs.
