hej guys
It's Carly.
I just made the groundbreaking discovery of a singer
That singer's name is Anne Charlotte Harvey and she's my new favorite singer (I never had a favorite singer, I always change favorite bands but my favorite singer is either Lillebjørn Nilsen, who died in January sadly, Ulrika Böden or Helene Bøksle)
as you fellas of Kidztalk know
I
LOVE
THE
SCANDINAVIAN
EMIGRATION
ERA
well... you guys probably know what kind of songs Anne Charlotte Harvey sung (Shes still alive, she just quitted her music career 30 years ago and now works at a college)
She sings 19th century Scandinavian emigrant songs.
Yes. Thats a real thing
She has a whole "saga" of albums called the Snoose Boulevard
Here is the whole saga (in order)
- Memories of Snoose Boulevard (1972)
- Return to Snoose Boulevard (1974)
- Scandinavian in a new land (1976)
- A Snoose Boulvard Christmas/A Swedish-American Christmas (1985)
So yeah
She sadly isnt in Spotify, and only 2 of her albums are on Youtube.
My favorite song by her is either "Skada att Amerika" or "Oleana" (I like Lillebjørn's version of Oleana better tho)
Anyways. I have 4 sides to my music taste now.
Which are
Swedish rock that includes Nyckelharpa and talks about the Kalmar Union
Scandinavian folk (with Nyckelharpa) that sounds like its made by 15-year olds
HEAVY METAL THATS ABOUT THE GREAT NORTHEN WAR YEAHHHH
And
And
19th century Scandinavian Emigrant songs
i should stop talking now.
