So, I just got registered, and I'm not really sure what you can do that's different when you're not registered, I know there's a difference,  but I'm not sure what.

Points one, badges is another. And you can ask for advice columns, people know it is you, blogs, contests, etc.

These are all very good reasons. It also makes it easier to post questions since you don't have to answer the challenge test each time. We can also notify you (your parents) when your question gets a response.
