If you like science and want to do it as a career, you basically have two choices. You can be Scientist, or an Engineer.
An Engineer uses science, but it is more towards using science and technology concepts to solve problems. A Scientist often just studies science for the sake of understanding it better, even if it does not lead to anything useful at the moment. However, many big breakthroughs come from scientists studying things that later are developed by engineers.
You might ask what Science is too, since that is what a scientist studies. Science involves carefully observing the natural (living things) and physical world in a special way that uses a hypothesis (idea) and experiments to try and prove if it is wrong or worth studying further. After enough experiments, the idea could become a theory, like Gravity is today, but we can never prove it with 100% certainty. For example, one day gravity could change for unknown reasons and the formulas won't apply.
