Sequin rested her head on Shawns lap as he stroked her head. She sighed happily. She remembered what they went through to get this far......
They were at the loading dock, Black Cheetah fast at work. “Why am I not allowed to touch you?” He asked. “Because I will kill you if you do.” Black Cheetah answered. “Why though?” He pressed. “I don’t have to explain myself to you.” She snapped. Then boarded the plane and buckled up. He did the same. Two hours later, they landed in France. She changed into the local attire. He gazed at her, in wonder and surprise. They went to a hotel where she greeted the bell hop in the native language. “Bonjour, Bonsoir comment vas-tu?” She said. “Je vias bien. Merci beaucoup.” He answered. They continued in the conversation, before she finally asked him something. “Parlez-vous anglaise?” He nodded. “Oui, but not much.” he answered. “So, you and your brother need a room, oui?” He asked. She nodded. He gave her a key and told her to go to room 301. In the room, she organizes her things neatly into the little drawers appointed for her side of the room. “I didn’t know you speak French.” Shawn says. “I'm fluent in 54 languages.” she says, and Shawn stares in shock. “The only languages I'm fluent in is Spanish and English.” She stares wide eyed. “You have got to teach me Spanish!” She says. “Wait so of all 54 languages you speak; Spanish isn't one of them?” He asks. She nods. Later, Shawn and Kitty pick their own beds and go to sleep. She was stirring in her sleep, shaking, and holding her side. “No, Cadence, please.” She mumbled. She began crying. Shawn went to her side and stroked her shoulder. “Sh, everything is okay. He can’t hurt you.” Shawn whispered. She calmed down, and he laid himself down beside her. He pulled her into his arms and fell asleep beside her.
She woke to him holding her. She pushed him away. “What do you think you are doing?” She demanded. “You had a night terror last night, and I tried to comfort you.” He hurriedly explained. Then he blushed. “Listen to me and listen good. If I ever find you next to me again when I wake, you will be sorry.” She snarled. He backed away. Sequin picked out an outfit and changed. “You are beautiful.” Shawn said. “Flattery won’t save you.” She sneered. Just then, gunshots sounded. She rushed out and saw every guard shot dead. They had been under cover. “How did you find me, brother?” She asked. “I always know where to find my little sister.” Carter, her younger brother answered. “Hand over the crown, and I will show you mercy. Refuse, and die.” He said. “Never!” Black cheetah called, and then plunged towards her brother, who stabbed her in the side. She threw a teleportation device under him. “Drat.” He said, before disappearing. Shawn came out of the room and saw her collapse. “Kitty!” He yelled. Shawn picked her up and carried her back to the room. After removing the blade, and bandaging the wound, he called an ambulance. She woke 3 hours later after surgery. Downstairs, Shawn is pacing the waiting room, waiting for the doctor. When the doctor finally does arrive, he looks cheerful. “Your sister will make it.” He says. “She is actually requesting your presence.” The doc adds. Shawn goes to her room. “Hey.” She says meekly when she sees him. She pats the space on the bed beside her, and he sits next to her. Kitty leans on his shoulder. “Thank you for saving me. I might not always show it, but I don’t despise you.” She says. He smiles. “I hope someday you will love again.” He says and puts an arm around her. “I underestimated you. You aren't a coward.” Kitty tells him. They sit there in silence for a moment. “I hate being a hero.” She finally says. “Then why do you still do it?” Shawn asks. “My biggest fear is that if I stop, the city will fall.” They sit for another count of silence.
kitty was called to a fire. The familiar adrenaline coursed through her. She was sure Cadence was finally going to propose to her tonight. She could not wait. She was planning to say yes. The fire was in full blaze, and she rushed in for any potential survivors. Someone came up behind her and stabbed her in the side. She recognized the laughter. Cadence. “But why?” She had pleaded, but he laughed as she burned in the fire.…
“Shawn?” She asked as she notices him holding her again. “You had another night terror last night. Same one I am guessing.” He says. “Who's Cadence?” He asks. “Don't say that name!” She snaps. “Okay. But will you tell me what happened?” He asks. She shakes her head. “Okay.” He whispers. Then he strokes her shoulder. She shivers before leaning against him, and relaxing. “This isn’t so bad.” She whispers. Shawn smiles. “I will never hurt you. I will never betray you. I am yours.” He whispered.
Later, they were flow to the white house. She was to give a speech in favor of one of the candidates. Shawn was kept busy. He was informing Black Cheetah about the candidates. “Hillary was announced on YouTube on April 12. She was number 67 to be the united states secretary and served during the first term of the Obama administration. She was a senator from New York.” He was saying. “And her goals as President?” Kitty asked. “To make schooling easier, allow immigration to keep families together...” He was stopped short. “And Trump?” She asked. “He launched his campaign June 16. He is the republican nominee, and has won the most state primaries, caucuses, and delegates.” Shawn explained. Trump was walking down the hall, and he saw Black Cheetah. “It is a pleasure to finally meet you kitty.” He says. “You too, Mr. Trump.” She said formally, shaking his hand. “I have an inauguration speech to prepare for, but nice meeting you.” He says. “He’s friendly, so he has my vote. Hillary hates my guts.” Kitty says. Later, she is at the podium telling the people why she will vote for Trump, and why he should be president. Then Trump gives his inauguration, and then Hillary. “Vote for me and protect the human right to vote. Aliens should not have a say in our polls. It is our right. No offense to kitty, but is she really a reliable source of info, as she had mere minutes to prepare for this?” Hillary was saying. Black Cheetah smiled. “I love this.” She whispered. She slowly began to get around to liking Shawn. After the speeches were done, Trump met up with kitty. “Hey, thank you for your support. I really appreciate it.” He says. “You got it. You were nice to me, and I liked your slogan.” She said. Then she and Shawn left to a military base in Washinton, DC. Nya was there. She smiled at Kitty. “I see you haven’t killed him yet” She says. Shawn gives her a tight smile. “Don't worry, it only happened twice." She says. “Wait, what?” He stuttered. “Yeah, he shouldn’t have been feeling me up.” Black Cheetah said tightly. “Come on, let’s go.” She motioned for Shawn to follow. He obeyed. They went to a military copter. As they took flight, Shawn began to have random questions. “You never eat.” He says. “I do. Just Oreos. I only like Oreos.” She responds. “What about milk?” He asks. “Not my preferred beverage.” She answers. “What about your nick name. Why kitty?” He asks. “Have you seen my outfit?” She responds. “What is with your sudden interest in me?” She asks him. “It just came to mind.” He says simply. He takes her hand in his. At first, she resists, but then he starts caressing her, so she calms down. Black Cheetah is completely at ease, until Cadence takes over. “How are you doing, sweety?” He asks from the cockpit. “Cadence?!” She says tensing. “Land this chopper right now boy, or I will kill you!” She threatens him, but he just laughs. “Do that, and you will doom your boyfriend.” Cadence smirks.
Cadence and Kitty were in bed, and they were laughing their cares away. “You are such a dork!” She giggled. Smacking him with a pillow. “I love you too babe.” He says.
“You’re the jerk that broke her heart, aren’t you?” Shawn demands. “You told him?” Cadence asks. “I talk in my sleep.” She responds. “Yes, do you want the full story?” Cadence asks. Shawn nods. As they fly Cadence begins to tell the story of why kitty no longer loves. For your sake, dear reader, we will pause the story here, to tell kitties.
She was sure Cadence would propose to her. She was happier than ever. She had just responded to a robbery and was now heading towards a fire. She rushed into the building to check for any survivors. She called and called to anyone who might still be alive. No one answered. As she was about to leave to help put the fire out, a pain so horrible shot through her side. The pain was crippling, and she fell. The pain was unimaginable. “You shouldn’t have trusted me.” Cadence sneered. “No one could love a freak like you.” He laughed; head thrown back. He left her there to burn. She suffered pure agony. She was supposed to die in that fire. Not one sound escaped her lips, but she still had the scar.
“Why are you so proud of that?” Shawn asked in disgust. Cadence smiled. “Because now, she won’t love.” Cadence said calmly. The Chopper landed in a base camp. Her father and brother were there. Carter grabbed Shawn. “Fight, and your boy here, dies.” Her father said. “Do what you want with me but leave him out of this!” Kitty yelled. She was stripped of her weapons, and put into a muzzle, leash, and collar. She struggled, but in the end, realized it was in vain. She was taken to a room, and Shawn to another.
“Where is the crown of Shenturri?” Carter asked again. “I will never tell you.” She said weakly. She was tied to the wall, weak from the tortures he ensued. “I will stop hurting you when you tell me.” He says. “Wait.” Her father says. “She has no concern for her own wellbeing, but maybe she’ll tell us if we torture her colleague.” Her father suggests. A light turns on, and she sees Shawn tied too. “Tell us where it is, or he suffers the consequences.” Her Father threatened. “Never.” She said weakly. “I know where she hides it.” Shawn tells them. “Let me help her, and I will tell you where it is.” He compromises. Retro takes this into consideration. “Lie to me, and she will die.” Retro threatens. He cuts the bonds binding Shawn, and Shawn rushes to her side. He holds her in his arms and nurses her wounds.
“She’s in critical condition!” A nurse called. “Get her to ICU stat!” Said another. She was rushed on a stretcher. The stretcher was brought to a room where she would be cared for. The nurses plugged her to a machine using needles. “She has 4th degree burns.” The first nurse was saying.
“Shawn, do you really know where it is?” She asked him. He shook his head. He cut her bonds. “I always hide one. Act like you are still tied.” Shawn whispered. Shen nodded. Carter approached. “You have helped her, and she is well, now where is the crown?” Carter asked. “Dollar store, *****!” Shawn said, stabbing Carter in the side. Carter collapsed. “You stabbed my brother!” Kitty said gleefully. “Can you do that to my father?” She asked. “You are way too excited about this.” Shawn said. Shawn and kitty headed out, her leaning on him for support.
Black Cheetah walked out of the hospital. The press wanted to interview her. Question after question came, and she had not said a word. A little girl tried to hug her, and she pushed the girl away.
Present day,
She was in agony, but the chances of escape were high. “Wait, I need my swords and utility belt.” She said urgently. “Why?” Shawn demanded. “Personal reason.” She said. “Okay then.” He responded. When they had recovered it, she was opening something, and she drugged herself. “Hey what are you doing?” He asked. “Healing.” she explained. Then After a moment, she got her weight off him. “I will be fine.” Kitty reassured him. She limped ran out of the building. She heard Shawn call for help, and when she turned, she saw that her father had a hold of him. “I will kill him if you don’t hand over the Shenturran crown. It is rightfully mine.” The father said. “No, on my sixteenth birthday, it became mine.” Black Cheetah growled. She dug a sword into the ground, and an energy blast erupted from the blades, knocking the men to the floor. Shawn was dizzy. He felt someone grab his arm, and he woke in a hospital room. Black Cheetah was there. Just in normal clothes. “Hey Seq.” He said. She nodded. “Sorry about the sonic conquest. It was the only way to save you.” She said. He nodded. “What’s up with the crown of Shenturri?” He asked. “Let me tell you a little story.” She says. “Long ago, my village lived in peace on a planet called Shenturri. We were a peaceful people, thriving. One day, when I turned ten, my sister and I were walking down a corridor, discussing the thrones, when our father killed our mother in front of us. The crown rolled in front of me. I took it and ran. My brother joined us. We fled the planet. My father scoured the universe looking for the crown, and me, to claim the throne rightfully mine.” She finished, looking to Shawn. “Why not give him what he wants?” Shawn asked. “Once he gets the crown, he’ll have the power to rewrite the universe as we know it. It is safer in my hands.” She explained. He nodded again. “I see. Will you take up the mantle as queen?” He asked. She shook her head. “Shenturri was destroyed in his search for the crown.” She told him. The nurse came in. “Ma’am, I am going to have to ask you to leave. Visiting hours are over.” The nurse said. Sequin nodded. Then she was gone.
