Russia has lots of trees and has the most forests of any country in the world. Wood is a 20 billion dollar industry for them. However, from the outlook study, they still only use a tiny amount of their resources. I suppose it is a good thing, since they are able to keep their forests thriving without over harvesting them for wood.
"Forests cover more than half the country, but Russia’s share of the global trade in forest products is less than 4%."
