Please explain lunar eclipses

A lunar eclipse happens when the moon gets darker by going into the umbra (darker shadow behind Earth) and then to the penumbra (lighter shadow behind Earth). When the moon is completely dark, it is known as a full lunar ecplise. When the moon is only a fraction dark, it is known as a partial lunar eclipse.

The moon orbits the earth every 27.32 days. 
The earth orbits the sun every 365.2452 days. 
At each moon orbit around the earth the moon overtakes the earth and then falls behind it . 
In a year the moon will orbit the earth 13.37 times approximately. Therefore its yearly orbit around the sun could be 365.2452 days plus or minus several days due to that extra 0.37.
